K. Dwight Lackey is a 3rd generation, ordained Assembly of God minister. My grandfather attended the meeting in 1914 where the Assemblies of God was formed. I started in full time ministry in 1981.
I came to First Assembly of God in Independence in September, 2008. Prior to that I served Berean Assembly of God in Des Moines, IA for 13 years as the Assistant Pastor, Macomb Assembly of God, Macomb, IL for four years as Senior Pastor, Berean Assembly of God, Des Moines, IA for 7 years as Youth Pastor, Flora Assembly of God, Flora, IL, Evangel Temple Assembly of God, Fort Smith, AR & Evangel Temple Assembly of God in Pell City, AL as Youth Pastor.
My wife, Shari and I married in July of 1981. We have two children, Rachel, who graduated from Central Bible College in April of 2009 with a BA in Children’s Ministries, married Michael Pilcher in May, 2009 and received her License to Preach from the Assemblies of God in June of 2009. Our son, Aaron lives at home and is studying through Global University to be a Youth Pastor.
Shari and I love people of all ages and walks of life. We love to travel & attend St. Louis Cardinals & Kansas City Royals baseball games. Shari works with me at church and has also been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for 14 years. She loves paper crafts, card making & scrap booking.
Serving people is what we enjoy most about ministry. Seeing people come to know Christ and grow in their knowledge of Him is what is most rewarding. Watching that life changing experience take place in people’s lives is so meaningful, no matter what age or background they may be.
